i have a feeling that the ldap breaks because of some dependency hell with python, and that python and ldap arent the best of friends (see here)

Is there a workaround?

@jp is there a single page i can run through the process of installing erp5 from scratch to launch that has been tested to work with ubuntu 10.1? I tried to install the .debs downloaded from your site but did not get anywhere to log in, http://localhost:8080 was not working and there was nowhere to get help.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation. Eliminating the login requirements will be
part of next release, which is expected in february or march. Thanks
for your comment.

BTW, Web site should be up now http://www.erp5.com/
sorry, lunch break. still stuck at ldap.
@jp, thats where i started, the official site but somehow all the how tos required me to log in, yet i did not have a way of registering. additionally if you look at this thread, i began by

running through the official how to for 24 hours.

On Tue, Jan 4, 2011 at 3:36 PM, <<a href="mailto:jp@nexedi.com" target="_blank">jp@nexedi.com> wrote:

> provide lots of support on erp5-users, and development effort through

> erp5-dev, and share plenty of knowledge and experience. This is how a

> community is supposed to work, after all. So it is strange, and sad,

> they don't do it.

They work in their own environment, mostly in Brazilian. They translated

ERP5 and all OSOE documentation. Probably Rafael can tell more

about this effort.

What ERP5 BR did is really impressive. So, Nexedi decided to help them

because what they do is a real community effort with people who want to

contribute to ERP5 core by spending much time. We often do staff exchange,

a bit like in academic research world. It helps having a good communication

and a good relation. This is why it works quite well.
